Join us in Huanchaco, Peru for a surf adventure where surfing is said to have originated. This trip is designed for teaching those who have never surfed before or are beginner surfers. However, intermediate to advanced surfers are welcome to join and will equally benefit from the experience. Partnered with local ex-pro surfers who have over 50 years of combined experience surfing, we guarantee you will stand up on the first day.

Step into the rhythm of nature on a journey that is an equal balance of surfing and cultural immersion. Eat fresh ceviche, learn to salsa, help the community with a beach clean up and learn how a local organization is empowering youth through surfing, learn the art of Totora Reed Caballito's (the original surf board), learn how to make and shape modern surf boards, and see ancient ruins.

Due to the fluid nature of this trip, we will operate under a Sample Schedule instead of a daily itinerary. However, all of the highlights and inclusions will be included at different points throughout the 12 days.

This trip is all about going with the flow and tuning in with nature. Working closely with our Peruvian partners, and ex-pro surfers, who are from the area and experts in how the tide breaks, each day we will wake to read the tide and adjust the schedule for the day.

Depending on your personal needs for rest and relaxation we will spend most days surfing in the morning. Additional excursions are planned for visiting local historical sites and visiting the town of Trujillo.
Huanchaco has a consistent beach break that makes it ideal for learning to surf and committed practice. However, once during our trip we will head north to Chicama beach to surf the longest left hand wave in the world.

Our mission is to help you learn to surf, rest, and rejuvenate. We will be there every step of the way to support you, while providing space to explore the local culture and food scene.

You will say farewell to your guides at 10:00 AM at the Penthouse. Transportation will be provided to the airport of any local hotel, within a 15 mile radius. We are always happy to assist you with planning for an extended stay in Peru.

Your shared room includes two double bed, closet, and external shared bathroom. The apartment itself has a fully equipped kitchen, laundry room, and huge shared terrace.

*The Penthouse is our central gathering space for the week. This space includes private/shared bedrooms. All guests are requested to be mindful of everyone's privacy and space needs when using common spaces. MEET YOUR GUIDE
Heidi
Heidi is an experienced international traveler having been to 5 continents and explored 7 different countries. She seeks adventures off of the beaten path and craves intimate cultural experiences.

On her way to Patagonia with a stop over in Peru, she ended up staying for 2 months making her way into the Andes, the Cordillera Blanca mountain range, and deep into remote parts of the Amazon only accessible by boat or plane.
ā
Heidi has been teaching yoga for over 8 years. She focuses on making yoga practical, approachable, and pertinent. The heart of her practice is living yoga and using time on the mat for deep insights and investigation into the mind and body.
ā
She has a passion for the outdoors and is certified in Wilderness First Aid and CPR, as well as a liscenced trail guide. Heidi combines mindfulness practices, and ancient techniques to reconnect with nature in the modern world.
MEET YOUR GUIDE
Chicho
Chicho is a descendant of the Moche people of Northern Peru. He and his brother own a surf shop with over 50 years of surf experience between them. He has taught throughout South America, but takes great pride in the development of a unique surf curriculum that builds upon time spent in the classroom and on the water.

Although you can still find him in competitions, his pro days are behind him. He keeps himself in the pro surf scene as a judge.
ā
Chicho owns and operates his own board making and shaping company, which allows him to supply unique boards for novice surfers so that they too can surf and fall in love with it.

As soon as you are fully booked you will receive a confirmation email with trip details. Two weeks prior to the trip start date we will reach out with a request for your arrival details. One week prior to the trip start date you will receive an email containing any last minute information you need to know prior to arrival.
